Since the Phenom will run on AM2 will you (or do you) use an AM2 setup?
I already am on AM2 and plan to stay.
I was already planning to move to AM2.
I am moving to AM2 because it will support the Phenom.
I am waiting till the Phenom is out for a while but will consider it.
I am an AMD Fanboy.
I am an Intel Fanboy.
I am not considering an AM2 setup at all.
I don't care as long as I can get my email.
Phenom-what? AM2 who?! Speak english man!

Ultra Products X-Finity 800W PSU

Real-Time Pricing

What has 80 amps of current, four 12 volt rails, and looks really sexy? If you guessed the new Ultra 800 watt X-Finity you're absolutely correct. Ultra has made some great products in the past and still do today. Products such as cases, case lighting, and fans for modders as well as quite a few other products such as MP3 players, tools, and even barebones kits. The new X-Finity sure looks sweet right out of the box with its anodized black shell and silver cables. Let's see if the performance backs up the great looks.

Today I have the pleasure of reviewing the latest X-Finity PSU that Ultra was nice enough to send us, the X-Finity™ 800 Watt PSU w/ Active PFC and, as you will see, she sure does put out. :)

AST (After Spin Technology)

Straight from Ultra's web site, "After Spin Technology is used to quiet the system and aid in prolonging the life of your components. Connectors for chassis fans are thermostatically controlled; RPM's are reduced when temperatures inside the case are low. PSU, chassis and CPU fan connectors remain spinning several minutes after the PC is powered down allowing the system to gradually cool down after use." Pretty cool eh? In this picture the green fan is connected to an AST connector while the clear fan is not. After the computer is shutdown the green fan still runs for a few minutes cooling down the components.

Package

UPS made a visit and left a slightly dinged up box in a somewhat poor condition. I thought it might have fallen off the truck on the way over here. As you can see in the pictures, one side was crunched pretty good and the box inside was damaged as well. Despite all the roughness, the jewel contained inside was shining perfectly without any damage. Ultra sent the power supply in a plain white box because the official retail box was not available yet. Knowing this power supply made it through the rough road here made me feel pretty good. I know it's durable, so when I have to travel to a LAN party I know if something goes wrong it will not be the power supply.
