Since the Phenom will run on AM2 will you (or do you) use an AM2 setup?
I already am on AM2 and plan to stay.
I was already planning to move to AM2.
I am moving to AM2 because it will support the Phenom.
I am waiting till the Phenom is out for a while but will consider it.
I am an AMD Fanboy.
I am an Intel Fanboy.
I am not considering an AM2 setup at all.
I don't care as long as I can get my email.
Phenom-what? AM2 who?! Speak english man!

MNPCTech Billet Machined Aluminium Case Feet

Real-Time Pricing

It's just a guess, but case feet probably aren't really something that most PC users give much thought to - I mean, they're just feet... on your case, right? I was going to go into a huge spiel to fill you all in on how much benefit can be gained from having feet on your PC - noise reduction, opening up your air intakes, saving your hardwood floor from scratches, make jokes about foot fetishes… all of that - but in all honesty, if you didn’t know that by now – you probably wouldn’t be reading this review. If you have any idea what case feet do though, I’ve probably saved about a minute of your life. Buy me a beer when you see me next time as payback. :)

I’ve been lucky enough to get my grubby little paws on the latest custom machined item from Bill Owen at MNPCTech – billet aluminium case feet.  Let’s find out if these PC podiatry products pack the punch that they’re purported to possess.

MNCP…MPNC..PCM…whatsitsname again??

If you’ve been stranded somewhere like the Congo for the last few years, the MNPCTech name probably won’t mean much to you at all – well my friend, it’s nice to see you made it out of the jungle alive, now let me help get you up to speed here:

Bill Owen (known humbly around the PC Apex forums as mnpctech_guy) is a veritable icon of the modding community – If Webster’s listed the term “modding”, there’d probably be a picture of the guy on the page. His work has graced numerous magazine covers and set the bar for many modding newbies and experts alike.  He is also heading up our "PimpRig Tribute" modding project which you really should check out.

On most days you’ll find him frequenting most of the popular modding forums offering handy advice, tips and a metered dose of good humour and when he’s not working on his latest project, helping out other modders or doing custom case mods for customers over at MNPCTech.com (yup, you read that right – he does modding to order – and he’s booked solid!) Bill also sources and develops new products and custom machined parts designed to add more punch to your project.
The Machined Aluminum Case Feet fall into the custom machined category.

*cough* in New Zealand we spell it the right way - aluminium *cough* :-)

There’s not a huge raft of features and specs for them because… well… they’re case feet. And don’t  really do that much. The important things to note though are:

- They are made by MNPCTech – are custom machined to MNPCTech’s specifications from 6061 T-6 Billet Aluminium – the same aluminium/magnesium/silicon alloy found blinging out things like high end motorcycles, hot rods and very soon on my PC.

- They incorporate 3/4” thick hard rubber pads which help prevent vibration transfer from your case to the desk/floor and prevent scratches.

- The package has all required nuts, bolts and washers included. If your case doesn’t come pre-drilled – you will need to be able to make four 1/4” mounting holes for them. Apologies to those of you who aren’t allowed scissors or who eat crayons… these aren’t for you I’m afraid.

The Package

The feet arrived with a few other goodies that I had personally ordered – MNPCTech makes sure that everything is packed well and safe from the loose crowbars and bricks which are known to be bouncing around in the back of delivery trucks everywhere.

Inside, the feet were securely shrink-wrapped with the mounting hardware – It's nice to see that there is no way that the finish can get scratched through handling or shipment.
