Recently I was sent a mouse / keyboard combo from iOne. Not knowing much about this company I did some research on them. In 1983, a company called Qumax was founded. Primarily they have made mice, keyboards, joysticks and other computer components. The company has been an OEM/ODM manufacturer for many large companies such as NEC, LG and Sanyo. Qumax’s research and development teams work with these manufactures and they produce some high quality gear. Eventually, Qumax started to release their products to the consumer. They came up with their own brand name called iOne. Now that we have a little background on the company the question becomes, how do their products compare to other well known names on the market like Microsoft and Logitech?
Packaging and Shipping
The keyboard / mouse combo came in a plain brown box, that was slightly larger then the retail box that was inside. The top right hand corner had been crushed a bit by shipping; however the mouse and keyboard were unscathed. Considering the package came directly from china, I say it weathered shipping well.
After tearing into the brown box, out came the retail packaging. The writing on the outside was in multiple languages, but was primarily in English. Inside the box were the keyboard and mouse (each wrapped in plastic) and a driver CD for the mouse.
