PC Apex Poll

Since the Phenom will run on AM2 will you (or do you) use an AM2 setup?
I already am on AM2 and plan to stay.
I was already planning to move to AM2.
I am moving to AM2 because it will support the Phenom.
I am waiting till the Phenom is out for a while but will consider it.
I am an AMD Fanboy.
I am an Intel Fanboy.
I am not considering an AM2 setup at all.
I don't care as long as I can get my email.
Phenom-what? AM2 who?! Speak english man!

Laptops and cooling. Somehow those two words don't seem to go together. Everyone who has a laptop knows how hot they run; which is the reason they usually are purchased out of need rather than want. They serve some practical purposes for school, work or just convenience. So when Titan offered up their newest Serina Stylish Cooling Pad for review, I jumped at the chance to check it out. The model I received was TTC-G2TZ/A that has the optional card Reader and 2.0 USB ports. Titan does offer the fan pad only model TTC-G2TZ/D, as well as a 1.1 USB option. The idea behind the Serina Cooling Pad is to pull heat away from your notebook in order to keep the temperature of the internal components down, which we all know is a major cause of hardware failures.

The Package

When the package arrived I was surprised at how lightweight it was. Even though I knew what the specs were and that the pad was made of aluminum, it seemed extremely light.

The exterior box for the pad itself proudly displays the lovely image of Serina, one of 5 female character images used for the Titan products. On the Titan website they even offer wallpaper of each one.

Upon opening the package I saw that the packing material was somewhat sparse. There was only a molded plastic form between the product, and the cardboard box. While efficient, it could prove fatal if you have a less than gentle courier. The entire contents consisted of the cooling pad, a USB cable, and an AC/DC power supply. All instructions, directions, and information is printed on the cardboard box itself. This isn't a complaint though, this economical method works for this particular product.
