Since the Phenom will run on AM2 will you (or do you) use an AM2 setup?
I already am on AM2 and plan to stay.
I was already planning to move to AM2.
I am moving to AM2 because it will support the Phenom.
I am waiting till the Phenom is out for a while but will consider it.
I am an AMD Fanboy.
I am an Intel Fanboy.
I am not considering an AM2 setup at all.
I don't care as long as I can get my email.
Phenom-what? AM2 who?! Speak english man!

Since its introduction, Fluid XP has been the benchmark all other non-conductive coolants have been measured against. It has allowed those who choose to water cool their computers a measure of safety and peace of mind that simply is not possible running traditional coolant mixes. Water + electricity = bad joojoo. A coolant leak is always a concern when you decide to water cool your rig, Fluid XP not only addressed that concern but did so with a liquid that gives up very little in performance. But you wouldn't expect NASA scientists to sit on their laurels if there is any room for improvement would you? Short answer... nope.

Not all that long ago my good buddy Ben "ZENNZZO" Obligacion tested out the original FluidXP for PCApex (then PimpRig) and while he found the non-conductive liquid performed within a degree or so of a 10% mix of Zerex and distilled water in his test rig, it was a somewhat costly alternative to the traditional water and antifreeze mixes. FluidXP at the time ran about $49 per quart. While a safe, low maintenance fluid sounded very promising, the cost was somewhat prohibitive.

But as many things do, over time the prices have dropped and the product has improved. The original's replacement now comes in two flavors, FluidXP+ High Performance is the first and can be purchased for around $25. And it is now available in 4 distinct and popular UV colors, Alien Green, Mellow Yellow, Midnight Blue and Red Flame in addition to clear. FluidXP+ HP is recommended for use in high flow systems with large tubing.

But what we are looking at today is the uh-hmm "new and improved" Fluid XP+ designated Extreme Performance. If high is good, extreme must be better right? It is certainly a bit more expensive costing an additional 10 dollars per quart. FluidXP+ EXT is intended for those that are want all the benefits FluidXP offers, with any water cooling set-up, without giving up that extra fraction of a degree in performance. And they are willing to reach a little deeper in the wallet to get there.

Through the magic of copy and paste, here's what the makers have to say about the new formula:

Fluid XP+ Extreme is another new computer coolant for liquid cooled computers. This product is taking the place of the original Fluid XP+. It has also been tested according to ASTM, and is everything the old coolant was and more.

There’s better thermal transfer and it can be used in any liquid cooled system, no matter how small the tubing or how powerful the pump is. This is a universal product, it doesn’t matter what type of system you our running. We also have added better corrosion and algae protection.

The product is safe, non-toxic, non-conductive, non-corrosive and bio-degradable. The ingredients are recognized by the FDA as food safe. The product will be available in the colors midnight blue, red flame, alien green, mellow yellow, and clear.

Fluid XP+ product line of coolants have been through the ASTM testing procedure to test conductivity. The rate of the product is around 12 micro siemens, which is considered zero conductivity for a liquid.

The coolant doesn’t have any alcoholic properties. It also has a low freezing point and no flash point. All test and procedures have been tested by outside labs and all records of the test are available to public domain. The Fluid XP+ product line of coolants are the only coolants out on the market today with scientific data supporting all claims.

12 micro siemens eh? Am I the only one that finds that unit of measurement somewhat disturbing?

Package

The package arrived unmolested the bottle of FluidXP+ Extreme snug in its nest of packing peanuts. If you have small children and pets about, FluidXP should take some of the worry out of storing and using toxic chemicals for your coolant. XP+ is considered "food safe", I don't know if Spot will find it as sweet and tasty as antifreeze, but it won't cause irreversible nerve damage if he manages to lap up a puddle of the stuff.
